Dr. Muli was born in a small village, Kiaoni, which is approx. 26 KM (~16 miles) from the orphanage in Kibwezi and approx. 200 KM (125 miles) south of Nairobi, the capital. 

In his own words: "As the 8th born with nine other siblings, I was lucky to get through my high school education and gain admission to the University of Nairobi where I majored in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. After graduation, I won a sponsorship to pursue my doctorate in Chemistry at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. I am currently working as a scientist with a leading healthcare company. I am fortunate to be where I am now, and know that other kids from my village (and other marginalized regions of the world) could achieve the same given the opportunity and resources. This forms the basis of my drive to our cause in supporting (and empowering) kids at Betterlife."
